Jogulamba Temple Alampur, located in Telangana, is a significant pilgrimage site known for its ancient temples and rich history. It is situated 27 km from Kurnool and 61 km from Gadwal. For long-distance travelers, reaching Kurnool first is advisable, as ordinary buses are available from Kurnool to Alampur. A visit to Alampur can be covered in 3 to 5 hours, but if you wish to stay, the only option is Haritha Resort, where a non-AC room costs ₹1050 (plus GST).

The Jogulamba Temple is the oldest in the complex, dating back to the 8th century. Adi Shankaracharya installed the Sri Chakra here. In the 14th century, the Bahmani Sultans destroyed the temple, but the Vijayanagara king Harihara Raya protected the remaining temples.Until 2005, the idol of Goddess Jogulamba was kept in the Balabrahmeswara Temple for safety. The current temple was reconstructed in 2005. If you have seen Warangal’s Bhadrakali Ammavaru, Jogulamba’s idol looks similar.

- Balabrahmeswara Temple
The temple complex is half a kilometer from the Alampur bus stand and 1 km from Haritha Hotel.
Pushkar Ghat and Sunrise Views
Before entering the temples, I visited Pushkar Ghat, where the Krishna and Tungabhadra rivers meet. This spot offers one of the most beautiful sunrise views I have ever seen. Many devotees take a holy dip here, and coracle boat rides are available for ₹50 per person.
